Chabad Vail will host a Shabbat Mini Chefs event today at 10:30 a.m. at the Jewish Community Center, 1000 Lionsridge Loop in the Vail Run Building. Children will learn how to make rugelach, a sort of Hungarian croissant stuffed with various fillings, from start to finish. While it’s in the oven, they will explore Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest, through songs, crafts, music, books and stories. The event lasts about an hour and a half to two hours and is geared toward preschool and lower-school children, who will be divided into groups for age-appropriate instruction and activities.
