The Minturn Summer Concert Series welcomes local band Town Cavalry to the stage at Little Beach Park in Minturn at 6 p.m. today. Town Calvary is composed of Colorado musicians Johnny Schleper (MTHDS, guitar and vocals), Rob Eaton Jr. (The Drunken Hearts, guitar and vocals), Mark Levy (The Congress, drums) and Alex Scott (40oz to Freedom, bass). The band has a smooth, steady rhythm section coupled with guitar solos and vocal harmonies. Town Cavalry plays a mixed bag of covers, including Derek Trucks, Bob Marley, Sublime, Edgar Winter, Led Zeppelin and a few soulful originals. Concertgoers are invited to bring a blanket to sit on, a picnic dinner and 3.2 percent alcohol by volume cans of beer only to the park for the free show.
