Special to the Daily

Eagle-based artist Leigh Ann Van Fossan will teach an alla prima wildflower oil painting workshop on Saturday, July 30, at Art of the Valley Gallery in Avon. Van Fossan will work with painters from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to capture a floral still life in the Contemporary Impressionist approach. The work will be “alla prima” (completed in one sitting, wet-on-wet painting) and will explore palette knife paint application techniques; cost is $100. Van Fossan specializes in florals, landscapes and seascapes painted with a palette knife, and her work is found in public and private collections throughout the United States and abroad.
