Celebrate National Poetry Month by joining Jodie Hollander at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, for a reading from her debut collection, “The Humane Society,” at the Eagle Public Library. Hollander studied poetry in England and has published her work in England, Australia and the United States. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship in South Africa, a National Endowment for the Arts Grant in Italy, a Hawthornden Fellowship in Scotland and attended the MacDowell Colony in February 2015. “The Humane Society,” her debut publication, was released in November 2012 and paints a family portrait that is a mixture of memoir, ghost story and artistic obsession. For more information about the event, call the library at 970-328-8800.
