Photos: Empty Bowls event raises money for Vail Valley Salvation Army food pantry

Volunteers from the Eagle River Fire Protection District serve soup to members of the community at the fifth-annual Empty Bowls fundraiser for the Vail Valley Salvation Army. Each $20 ticket included soup, bread and dessert from local restaurants, as well as a hand-thrown pottery bowl to take home, and 100 percent of the proceeds benefitted the Vail Valley Salvation Army food pantry.

The fifth-annual Empty Bowls fundraiser for the Vail Valley Salvation Army took over the Battle Mountain High School cafeteria on Friday, Aug. 10. Each $20 ticket included soup, bread and dessert from local restaurants, as well as a hand-thrown pottery bowl to take home, and 100 percent of the proceeds benefited the Vail Valley Salvation Army food pantry.
