Physician to discuss health-care trends
EDWARDS – Physician and professor Dr. Barry Strauch will talk Wednesday about how the country’s health-care system has evolved over the last century. Strauch will be at the Shaw Regional Cancer Center in Edwards from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Strauch, director of special projects at Fairfax Hospital in Virginia and clinical professor of medicine at Georgetown Medical School, also will talk about what’s causing health-care costs to rise, the country’s need for more nurses, and pressures on physicians, such as the cost of medical school.
