Register to vote
Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, is the last date to register to vote to be eligible to participate in the Nov. 5, 2002, General Election. Voter registration application forms are available at the Eagle County Clerk and Recorder offices located in Avon, El Jebel and Eagle as well as at all Town Clerk offices throughout Eagle County. Application forms are also available on Eagle County’s Web site located at http://www.eagle-county.com. Completed applications must be postmarked on or before Oct. 7, 2002.

Allard vs. Strickland
Sen. Wayne Allard and challenger Tom Strickland will square in a no-holds-barred political punch-out Sunday morning on NBC’s Meet the Press. Tim Russert rides herd on Meet the Press, and it’s the best of all the talking head shows. It’s not a political shreik show, Russert usually makes ’em behave like civilized folks. If he doesn’t, Don Imus dope slaps him the next day. It’s 9 a.m. on the local NBC affiliate. Check it out.

The Eagle County Charter Academy is running their annual rummage sale next month, and they’re taking donations right now. If you have stuff to give, and you do, call Muffy at 926-3890.
Children’s Chorale holding rehearsals
The Eagle Valley Children’s Chorale, under the direction of Liane Gulizia, has begun its 8th season. You can enroll your kid for one of three weekly practices: Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Gracious Savior Lutheran Church in Edwards, or Fridays at Eagle Valley Elementary School in Eagle. Those students who join may attend more than one practice a week.
Children who love to sing and perform will have a chance to check it out until the week of Sept. 23 before making the commitment to enroll. There is no need to pre-register. Scholarships are available for qualifying students.Call 926-2228 or 476-5822.
