Pistol waver arrested at Eagle bar fight
EAGLE — A five-man bar fight ended when police arrived and arrested a man waving a pistol around.
Eagle police say Joshua Rios-Vargas, 21, of Eagle, was one of at least five people involved in a recent fight at the Back Bowl. Rios-Vargas faces felony charges because he was the one who pulled a pistol from under his shirt, waving it and pointing it at others involved in the fight.
He later tossed the weapon into the field adjacent to the Back Bowl’s outdoor patio area, police said.
Police were called to the Back Bowl at 12:32 a.m. Sunday when the fight broke out and security personnel on the scene determined they could no longer control the situation.
Many patrons fled the scene when police arrived.
Rios-Vargas was arrested on charges of felony menacing, prohibited use of a weapon, unlawful carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. He is free after posting $2,500 bond.
