Pitkin County deputy suspended

ASPEN, Colorado ” A 23-year veteran of the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office has been placed on administrative leave, a high-ranking official confirmed Tuesday.

Patrol director Ann Stephenson currently is on suspension for unspecified reasons. Undersheriff Joe DiSalvo declined to give specifics about the suspension.

“It’s a personnel matter that we cannot go into,” he said.



Sheriff Bob Braudis is out of town and could not be reached.

Attempts to reach Stephenson at her Basalt home were unsuccessful Tuesday.
