Place to get a book
The Vail Valley is a literate bunch, supporting two bookstores in the wake of the on-line age. Neda Jansen and her new partner at The Bookworm of Edwards, Nicole Magistro, employ hard-core readers. “It’s cozy,” says Magistro. “I think the best thing we can offer is our selection. Every book is hand picked. We know our customers, and aspire to know what they’re looking for. We’re glad everybody is reading.”
Robert Aikens bought Verbatim Booksellers in 2003, and carefully selects the books that grace the shelves of the Vail bookstore. The Avon Library is open to the public, and even those without handy library cards can sit in a comfy chair and peruse the stacks.
