Police: Drunk driver almosts hits biker in Wolctt

WOLCOTT, Colorado – Police arrested a man for driving drunk on June 20 on Interstate 70 westbound in Wolcott.
Police spotted a Chevy S-10 pickup truck weave across the road and almost hit a motorcycle.
A breathalyzer test revealed the driver had a 0.165 blood alcohol content, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.
Police charged the driver with drunk driving, weaving, driving with an open alcohol container and driving with a license that had been revoked for a previous drunken driving offense.
• An officer who was parked along Grand Avenue last week took off after a vehicle when it passed him while playing an extremely loud stereo. When stopped, the driver acknowledged his music was too loud because he was upset.
He was unable to provide a driver’s license and initially gave a false name. The man eventually gave the officer his real name and confessed his license was under suspension for driving under the influence. He was arrested for driving with a revoked license and disturbing the peace.
• An officer patrolling through a residential area in town spotted a youth ‘mooning’ other kids. When confronted, the 10-year-old told the officer he knew what he was doing was wrong, but that his friends had dared him to do it. The officer contacted the boy’s mother, who said she would take care of discipline in the incident.
