Police investigating alleged attack at Denver skate park
DENVER – Police are investigating allegations that a man using a mountainboard at a Denver skateboard park was attacked and seriously injured by a group of skateboarders.
Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson says the man, whose name wasn’t released, reported the attack and was hospitalized. He says police are talking to the victim and witnesses.
The man told The Denver Post that he is recovering from a head injury, fractured back vertebrae and a broken elbow. He says he took his children to the skate park Wednesday and was beaten by more than two dozen teens and young men.
The man was riding a mountainboard, which looks like a snowboard on four big knobby tires.
Jackson says witnesses told police there was a confrontation and “words were exchanged.”
