Police: Man hid in crawl space to avoid arrest

LOVELAND, Colorado – Police say a Loveland man hid in an apartment crawl space and made phony calls to police in an attempt to avoid arrest.

Twenty-six-year-old Andrew Loren Malveaux faces charges including false reporting and obstructing a peace officer. Police were called to the Loveland apartment Friday night on a domestic violence call and used a K-9 dog to help remove Malveaux from a crawl space. No one was injured.

While Malveaux was hiding, police say he made three phony calls to police in attempt to divert them. The man was being held in the Larimer County Detention Center.
