Police, residents confront crime

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” Get-togethers will be held in neighborhoods throughout Eagle County on the National Night Out, Aug. 5, a nationwide event where police and residents rally against crime.

Police officers and other emergency workers will be at each event, which are as follows:

Avon



– Wildridge ” O’Neil Spur Park, 6:30 p.m.: inflatable castle for kids, live music, food, beverages and ice cream, raffle

– Aspens Mobile Home Park ” Community Park, 6:30 p.m.: Basketball game against the police, live DJ, food, beverages and ice cream, family games, medical helicopter on display, inflatable castle for kids, raffle

– Eaglebend Drive Block Party – Pocket Park, 6:30 p.m.: inflatable castle for kids, live music, food, beverages and ice cream, raffle

Vail

– City Market, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Food and beverages, educational brochures, KidCare ID kits

Edwards

– Freedom Park, 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: K9 demonstrations, community barbecue, spray park, seat belt exhibitions by Colorado State Patrol

Gypsum –

– Town Park, 4:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.: live music, community barbecue, ambulance and fire truck on display
