Police seek suspect in Eagle attempted burglary

Police are seeking this suspect in an attempted burglary that occurred Monday in Eagle.

EAGLE — The Eagle Police Department, in conjunction with the Eagle County Sheriff's Office and the Vail Police Department, are investigating an incident that occurred in the Bluffs neighborhood in Eagle in the early morning hours of Monday, Dec. 12. The suspect approached the residence on foot at approximately 2:05 a.m. The individual is holding what appear to be tools in his left hand. He then entered the front porch area through the front yard and proceeded to the front door.

The security camera footage shows the individual trying the front door handle several times. He then proceeds to place his hand on the door and attempt to push the door open. The homeowner called the Eagle Police Department which responded immediately. It is believed the suspect was startled by the homeowner and ran off before officers could arrive. The suspect appears to be a young male, possible Hispanic, with a slender build. He is believed to be about 18 to 24 years old. His shirt had the graphic "AND 1" on the front, and he was wearing Nike brand tennis-shoes.
