Police tells bartender to kick out cut-off drinkers

Eagle Valley Enterprise
Vail, CO Colorado

EAGLE, Colorado –An officer patrolling in downtown Eagle March 15 spotted a woman being escorted out of a local bar. When he stopped to see if the woman was all right, she did not respond to questions.

The bar bouncer said he had taken the woman outside to wait for a ride because she was visibly intoxicated.

When asked how the woman became so intoxicated, the bartender told the officer she didn’t know because the woman had only been served two glasses of wine. The officer asked the bartender if she routinely kicked people out of the bar when they were cut off. The bartender responded she did not. The officer informed her that if people were allowed to stay inside, other patrons often slip them additional drinks. The bartender said she would kick out cut-off drinkers in the future.

Meanwhile, the woman continued waiting outside. After her ride failed to show, the officer gave her a ride home and released her to the care of a sober person.
