Pond hockey played on Avon’s lake this month

AVON, Colorado ” The third annual Rocky Mountain Pond Hockey Championships will be held at Avon’s Nottingham Lake Jan. 17-18 for the youth division, and Jan. 23-25 for the adult division.

The format for the event is a multi-division tournament with the following age divisions: seniors over 50, seniors over 40, senior open (no age restriction), and a women’s/coed division. Youth divisions are for ages 7-17. Each team plays three games on Saturday and at least one game on Sunday. All abilities welcome.

Adult team entry fees are $500 and individuals are $85; youth teams are $250 and individuals are $30. Vail Eagle Hockey Association members can enter for free.
