Possessing date rape drug to be a felony in Colo.

DENVER – Selling or possessing the “date-rape drug” Rohypnol and the rave party drug known as Special K would be felonies under a bill that is soon to be state law.

The bill also makes it a felony for adults to sell drugs to kids under the age of 15. It is one of several justice reform bills passed by the Legislature this session.

Gov. Bill Ritter is expected to sign the bills Tuesday in a ceremony at the Capitol. The bills would give judges greater discretion in allowing nonviolent offenders to be put on probation, require jail time for repeat drunken driving offenders, and make money laundering an organized crime.
