Post office may get Ford’s name
DENVER ” The Senate passed a bill Saturday to rename the U.S. post office in Vail after former President Gerald R. Ford, Sen. Ken Salazar’s office said.
Ford, who was a booster of the Vail Valley, died last year at age 93. He and his wife had a home in nearby Beaver Creek.
Salazar, D-Colo., and Sen. Wayne Allard, R-Colo., introduced a bill in January to rename the Vail post office as the Gerald R. Ford Jr. Post Office Building.
The bill now goes to President Bush.
