VAIL, Colorado – Monday’s storm brought big snow totals to local ski areas for the Tuesday morning report.
Vail reported 10 inches of snow, while Beaver Creek reported 9 inches as of 6 a.m.
Vail currently has 1,603 of 5,289 acres open, but said over the weekend that they intend to open parts of the Back Bowls as soon as possible after Monday’s storm.
Vail has received 105 inches of snow so far this year.
Beaver Creek has 1,408 of 1,815 acres open, having gotten 96 inches of snow so far this year.
The National Weather Service says today’s weather will be sunny and cold, with a high near 17.
There’s a chance of snow Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the weather service said.
