Power flickered in Edwards Monday
EDWARDS ” Electricity went on and off in different parts of Edwards Monday.
The first power outage hit in the late morning and affected much of Homestead and parts of Cordillera. Later in the day, lightning hit a transformer in Old Edwards Estates. Whether it was because of the transformer or not, power was out for a time in Singletree.
Dick Stratton, local manager for Holy Cross Energy, said, “We’re still looking for the cause,” of what turned off the lights in Homestead, as well as the one in Singletree.
The power failures were complicated by an accident that closed westbound Interstate 70 Monday afternoon, making it hard to get crews out.
Asked late Monday afternoon if he expected all of Edwards to have power by Monday evening, Stratton said, “We’ll have it back by then.”
