Power yoga instructor visits Vail

VAIL, Colorado –The yoga studio at the Vail Athletic Club in Vail, Colorado welcomes TeriLeigh Schmidt, certified Baptiste power Vinyasa yoga instructor, for three special session of yoga, from Thursday thru Saturday.

Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga is an increasingly popular form of yoga that is the foundational yoga style and education that grounds The Yoga Studio at the Vail Athletic Club.-Moving through poses with breath, students “vinyasa” through their yoga practice.-Power yoga is not just physical, though. It is focused on the intention that practitioners can transform themselves and find power from within their bodies that affects their physical, mental, and spiritual experience.

“This yoga practice is not just powerful; it is empowering,” said Shannon Smith, Vail Athletic Club manager. “We are thrilled to welcome TeriLeigh Schmidt to enhance the Baptiste-based practice within our studio.”

Schmidt is a certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga instructor and has trained with Seane Corn, Rod Stryker, Bikram Choudhury and other well-known yoga instructors. She leads workshops and intensives at yoga studios across the country, publishes a yoga practice podcast on iTunes, and writes articles about yoga and healing for her “Prana Pages” blog. Session 1: Master class, Baptiste taste

What: Two-hour practice lead by TeriLeigh Schmidt

When: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday

Cost: $35 for guests, free for members

Description: This class is for intermediate practitioners and above.

Session 2: Master class, increased well-being

What: Two-hour practice lead by TeriLeigh Schmidt

When: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday

Cost: $35 for guests, free for members

Description: This class explores what types of stress you hold in what parts of your body, what your physical strengths say about your power in life, and how yoga can help you find a better state of well-being.

Session 3: Energetic anatomy workshop

What: Two-and-a-half-hour practice lead by TeriLeigh Schmidt

Date: 9 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday

Cost: $40 for guests and members

Description: Power Vinyasa Yoga has ancient roots and a complete science (the charka system) connecting the physical body with the mind and spirit. Through fun activities, journaling, lecture and yoga practice, guests will explore the energetic anatomy (the charka system) of the body as it supports the physical functions in yoga poses.
