VAIL — Professional snowboarders Danny Davis and Louie Vito will visit Eye Pieces of Vail at the top of Bridge Street on Friday. From 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Vito will be at the Goggle Bar to sign autographs, and at 5 p.m., Davis, with Dragon Alliance, will be in the Goggle Bar for a meet-and-greet session.
“I look forward most to giving young athletes who look up to Danny and Louie a chance to shake hands with guys that have achieved success at the highest level in their sport,” said Whitney Harper, marketing coordinator for Eye Pieces of Vail. “After all, Vail is in the habit of producing Olympians, and anything I can do to inspire the next wave is awesome.”
In addition to the athlete visits, Eye Pieces will be hosting three days of goggle demos at the base of Gondola One. On Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oakley will be demoing its 2016-17 line of goggles, and on Friday, Spy Optics will be on hand all day with product demos.
From 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Smith Optics will be offering demos, as well as a Smith backpack as a gift with purchases of more than $250 and raffling off athlete-signed merchandise at 4 p.m., including goggle, shirts, hats and posters. All three goggle companies will be demoing products from their latest, high-tech lines.
“Spy has the new Happy Lens, which uses technology to allow the light waves that make you happy to come through, while blocking other harmful UVs,” Harper said. “Smith has the new ChromaPop, an amazing lens technology that, among other things, enhances clarity and definition on the snow. Oakley is bringing their new Prizm lenses for all to try.”
