Property-tax deadlines have passed

EAGLE-VAIL ” The 2004 tax year deadlines have passed. Any property taxes not yet paid are delinquent.

Letters will be sent the end of July to homeowners with outstanding 2004 taxes. During the second week of August, the Eagle County Treasurer’s Office will call homeowners with outstanding taxes.

Unpaid mobile home and personal property taxes will be advertised on Sept. 1 in the Eagle Valley Enterprise. Any mobile home or personal property with unpaid taxes as of Aug. 22 will be advertised. The advertising fee of $10 will be added to the total amount due for the 2004 tax year.



Interest accrues on unpaid taxes at 1 percent per month. All unpaid mobile home and personal property taxes unpaid as of Sept. 23 will in October be served a distraint warrant, which allows the treasurer to seize and sell the property.

Distraint fees of up to $100 will be added to the total tax amount due for the 2004 tax year.



The annual tax sale is Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. in the Eagle County Building.
