EAGLE, Colorado ” The Eagle County, Colorado Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on next year’s budget proposal at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Eagle County Building in Eagle.
The county anticipates a 5 percent decrease in sales tax revenues and a 30 percent reduction in building permit fees from 2008.
Overall, revenue is projected to be down by approximately $1 million. The 2009 budget proposal shows cuts in expenditures of $2 million from the 2008 budget, with the additional funds to be placed in a contingency account to reflect an uncertain economic climate.
