Quick solutions sought for I-70 traffic

I-70 CORRIDOR, Colorado ” The I-70 Coalition, a group of mountain towns working of freeway traffic, is encouraging people to carpool or take public transit rather than drive alone in their cars.

The group also encourages drivers to make trips when traffic is light.

The group has hired Tad Kline, a former Boulder councilman and chairman of Boulder’s citizens’ transportation board, to work on these and other initiatives aimed at changing drivers habits and easing congestion.

Among Kline’s role will be to improve cooperation between truckers, the Colorado state Patrol, the Colorado Department of Transportation and front range mass transit agencies.

The coalition says any long-term traffic fix is likely a decade away.

For more information, call Tad Kline at (720) 839-2803 or e-mail to info@i70solutions.org. Individuals or businesses who would like to stay informed on I-70 corridor progress and developments can sign up to receive the quarterly e-newsletter I-70 Alert by visiting http://www.i70solutions.org.
