R. Lucille Riggle, 1922 – 2002

Born April 30, 1922, in Buffalo, Wyo., to Thurman and Ruby Gossett, she graduated from the Children’s Hospital School of Nursing following high school.

She then moved to Gilman to work in the hospital for New Jersey Zinc Mine, then for the post office. It was in Gilman she met Robert Riggle, whom she married on June 28, 1947. They had three children.

In 1972, the Riggles moved to Eagle, where she continued her postal career until retirement in 1988.

Friends said she loved her flowers and birds and was renowned for her ability to name them all. She enjoyed life, painting and all things to do with the outdoors, including long walks, they said.

She is preceded in death by: her parents and her husband; and her sister, Idabelle.

She is survived by: sister Claire Crews; children Patty Yount and her husband, Paul, Sue Keith and her husband, Butch, and Bob Riggle and his wife, JoAnn; and grandson Robert Keith and his wife, Susan.

Lucille Riggle’s ashes wil be interred at Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle at 10 a.m. Friday, with graveside services officiated by Reverend Dunston. There will be a lunch reception following at the Eagle Ranch Pavilion.
