Radio Free Minturn grateful
Minturn, CO, Colorado
On behalf of all of the volunteers at Radio Free Minturn, 107.9FM, I would like to thank our extraordinary community for their generous support during our 2008 Fall Fund Drive. We set out to raise $6,000 during the 8 day on-air fund drive and we are excited to announce that we exceeded our goal and raised approximately $7,400.
I would especially like to thank Dave Eickholt, The SOS Outreach Society, The Diageo Corp., Pazzo’s Pizza, The Eagle-Vail Ink Lounge, Traer Creek Liquors, and the Radio Free Minturn Board of Directors for making matching pledge challenges or donating premium items to provide to our donors. The donations of these businesses and individuals went a long way in helping us to raise the money that we need. Funds raised will help cover Radio Free Minturn’s operating expenses and allow us to provide improved services in 2009.
We are delighted that so many people took the time to make donations to the only community radio station based in the Vail Valley. Radio Free Minturn offers a unique service to the community that provides a learning environment for fledgling broadcasters, students of journalism and music enthusiasts. We plan to offer improved access for educational classes and programs as well as informational programming in the months ahead.
As a musical outlet for the community, we welcome new volunteers who are interested in sharing their love of unique music that is under-represented on the local airwaves in the Vail valley. We are currently looking for volunteers to create new jazz, latin, blues, and world music or programs to fill-in some gaps in our existing programming.
Radio Free Minturn would not exist without the financial support of its listeners and the tireless efforts of the volunteer DJs, management and board of directors. I want to thank everyone for their contribution to this wonderful community resource and I look forward to improving our service to you in the near future.
