Rainy afternoons may return to Vail Valley

VAIL, Colorado –After higher fire danger this afternoon and evening, a pattern of afternoon thunderstorms may return to Colorado’s Vail Valley Thursday.
Gusty winds as high as 30 mph and low humidity are driving up the fire danger in northwestern Colorado, the National Weather Service in Grand Junction says.
On Thursday, scattered thunderstorms would spread over northern Colorado by early evening. Some thunderstorms could be strong, the Weather Service says.
The forecast for the Vail Valley for the next few days includes a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms, with highs near 80 .
