Rally for immigrants’ rights planned in Greeley

Associated Press
Greeley, CO Colorado

GREELEY, Colo. ” Immigration reform will be at the forefront in Greeley as immigrant workers march to bring attention to the issue.

Organizers say the Latino community has been under attack in Greeley, citing a raid two years ago at a meatpacking plant where hundreds of workers were arrested, and an identity theft investigation against undocumented immigrants late last year.

The Saturday-afternoon march comes a day after immigrants held similar rallies around the country. Organizers of the Greeley march say they scheduled the event for the weekend so people wouldn’t have to miss work.

The march will start at Island Grove Park in Greeley’s downtown.
