Really big show

Daily Staff Report
Look who is a big sister! Welcome Sara Hawkins, born March 8.

The mystical world of hypnotism comes to Eagle Valley High School on Wednesday, May 11, when Dr. Jim Wand performs at the school. Tickets are $7, and available at the door or from any club member.Wand, who has previously appeared at Battle Mountain High School, is performing to raise money for a club at Eagle Valley, the League United of Latin American Citizens, or LULAC.

“We want the whole community to come out,” said club president Erika Torres, a senior at Eagle Valley. “We want to get as many people as we can, and raise money for LULAC.”It’s not likely that Wand will have anyone scratching like a chicken or barking like a dog, but there should be some amazing feats in store.

“We talked to kids at Battle Mountain, and they said he was great,” Torres said. “They said he had a bunch of guys up on stage acting like they were girls in a beauty pageant.”Wednesday’s show starts at 7 p.m., and club members are selling tickets like mad. The auditorium is reserved for the show, but if enough tickets are sold, the show will move to the gym.
