REALTORS® providing new housing for Hurricane Katrina victims

Vail Board of REALTORS® has joined the many other local and national real estate organizations in assisting the victims of Hurricane Katrina with contributions to the REALTORS® Relief Foundation.

The REALTORS® Relief Foundation, created in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon, came to the forefront again to collect aid for those displaced by the hurricane. The National Association of REALTORS® seeded this effort with a donation that has now reached $5.8 million.

The Colorado Association of REALTORS® has donated $25,000 and the Vail Board of REALTORS®, a contributing member under both the national and state associations, has also participated individually with a donation of $5,000.

REALTORS® Relief Foundation has stated that they are humbled by the generosity and, more importantly, that there are now hurricane victims in the Gulf States who will have a roof over their heads because of these organizations.
