Vail Daily staff report
Red Cliff, CO Colorado
Special to the Vail Daily"Rise and Shine," by Red Cliff artist Steve Donahue.

RED CLIFF, Colorado – The old Red Cliff elementary school is home to “Fishbowl Project,” the fine art and furniture finishing studio of Steve Donahue.

Fishbowl Project provides multiple outlets of artistic expression for Donahue, an Art Institute of Boston graduate. Donahue has turned his passion for fine art into a viable business as a faux painter.

His company, although developed to market Donahue’s skill at wood repair, furniture refinishing and hand painted wall coverings and murals, has evolved into an arena for his abstract paintings as well.

“Steve’s paintings have a sense of depth and space,” says local artist Barb Bomier. “They possess good line quality and a variety of paint /medium application. His caricatures provide great insight into a very fun side of Steve.”

Although Donahue does not put a label upon the artists that have inspired him or the events that give him inspiration, he appreciates the artwork of both current and late experts such as Thomas Campbell and Willem de Kooning.

For information and appointments regarding the spectrum of artistic services provided by Fishbowl Project, Steve can be reached at 970-390-4387 or
