AVON, Colorado – Diane Mitsch Bush, Eagle County’s state representative, will be holding a town hall discussion about the 2013 Colorado General Assembly on from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Avon Public Library, Beaver Creek Room, 200 Benchmark Road in Avon
Mitsch Bush, a Democrat from Steamboat Springs, represents House District 26, which is comprised of Eagle and Routt counties.
She was sworn in for her first term Jan. 9.
The first bill signed into law by Gov. John Hickenlooper this session was her bill retaining the Colorado Avalanche Information Center within the Department of Natural Resources, House Bill 1057.
Her second bill, HB 1132, is a bipartisan bill she is sponsoring along with Republican Rep. Ray Scott (R-Grand Junction). The bill was unanimously approved in committee and passed with two “no” votes in the full House. It is now on its way to the Senate. The bill preserved over $45 million in federal transportation funds for Colorado by bringing overweight/oversize truck specifications into conformity with federal law.
