Reported robbery at Denver pot dispensary was false

Associated Press
Denver, CO Colorado

DENVER – Denver police say a report of a man threatening to rob a medical marijuana dispensary but leaving without taking anything appears to have been a dispute between two of the businesses’ employees.

Police say the man who initially called police has repeatedly changed his story about what happened Sunday night. Police say they were told that there was a robbery happening in a dispensary in southeast Denver and that a man was waving a gun and threatening to leave with some products before fleeing empty-handed.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson says that it now looks like it was all a dispute between two dispensary employees and that a gun was never displayed.

Jackson says no charges will be filed in the case.
