Residents asked to help define Quality of Place

Daily Staff ReportVail CO, Colorado

Eagle County is conducting its first ever Quality of Place Survey to identify local residents views about living in the area. The Board of County Commissioners believes its important to measure residents opinions, in their own words, about quality of life in the area to help to determine the future direction of the county. The project will consist of two major parts. The first is a short online survey, open to the community, in which residents are asked several questions about what they like best and least about the area, and what improvements should be made for the future of Eagle County. The survey can be completed in a few minutes and respondents can submit their opinions online. Those interested in participating can link to the survey at http://www.eaglecounty.us. The survey will be open until July 30.By participating in the online portion of this survey you dont have to wait to be asked your opinion, you can tell it like you see it, and that is exactly what we want to hear, said Commissioner Sara Fisher. The second part of the project will be a telephone study conducted among a random sample of 400 residents. The study will be administered by Research & Polling, Inc., an independent market research company. This survey will focus on residents perceptions of key quality of life indicators and will also measure satisfaction with services provided by Eagle County Government. This new tool will help make county government a dynamic organization that responds to and better serves the community.
