Residents can drop off Haiti relief checks in Vail Valley

Vail Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL, Colorado – The Western Chapter of the Colorado Red Cross, in partnership with the Marriot Streamside in Vail and the Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District will be accepting checks at the following locations until 3 p.m. on Tuesday:

• Marriot Streamside at 2284 S. Frontage Rd. West Vail

• Edwards field house

• Rec centers in Gypsum and Eagle

Secure drop boxes with the American Red Cross logo will be at each location.

“This will be a very long and costly relief and eventual recovery effort, so while current fundraising for the immediate relief and response is critical, the Red Cross will need your support in the months, and even years ahead,” says David Hintch, executive director of the Western Colorado Red Cross.

Donations can also be mailed to the Western Colorado Red Cross office at 506 Gunnison Ave., Grand Junction, CO 81501 or by phone to 970-242-4851. Mark your check with Haiti Disaster. You can also text donations in $10 increments by calling 90999 and texting “Haiti” in the message, or go to http://www.redcross.org to donate via Paypal or credit card.
