Residents discuss another Tenn. Pass hut tonight
Vail, CO Colorado
TENNESSEE PASS ” Residents will meet tonight to discuss the possibility of a new hut in Jones Gulch.
Some residents are worried another hut will hurt the nearly untouched wilderness area, wildlife and streams. The comment period ends soon before the U.S. Forest Service makes a decision on the hut.
The meeting will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the home of Marjorie Westerman, on Highway 24 one mile before Tennessee Pass. It is the first driveway and first house on the right.
“The area is reaching commercial capacity, and they want to build a hut that will bring hundreds of people up here,” said meeting organizer Tom Weisen.
