‘Resolve to Evolve’ at Vail Athletic Club
VAIL, Colorado – The Yoga Studio at the Vail Athletic Club is ringing in 2011 with a community resolution: to foster the evolution of personal growth on and off the yoga mat.”Most people have the desire and intent to be healthier, happier and stronger, yet somehow the end goal sometimes gets lost in the business of life. We are committed to serving our community by providing the final, most important part of the puzzle: the perseverance and support needed to follow through,” said Club Manager Shannon Smith.A resolution-themed month at the club begins Sunday when Rachel Nelson leads “Resolve to Evolve,” a two-hour yoga workshop beginning at 5 p.m. that will explore intention setting and staying committed to resolutions through a strong physical practice. The workshop is $30 for guests and $25 for members. On Monday, “42 Days to Personal Transformation” kicks off under the guidance of Julie Kiddoo. 42 Days is a six-week program that encourages a daily yoga and meditation practice, journaling, healthier diet guidance and offers weekly community meetings as well as unlimited support from Kiddoo. Kiddoo first participated in a 42 Days program at The Studio four years ago and has since participated in it five times and become a yoga teacher as a direct result.”The program is truly evolutionary, and evolution is a fundamentally continuous process, so I kept going back because I kept learning more and more about myself,” Kiddoo said. “This program is an incredible means of figuring out what’s important to you, and going after it.” Participants in 42 Days receive unlimited yoga classes from Jan. 3 to Feb. 14, a copy of Baron Baptiste’s “40 Days to Personal Revolution,” on which the program is based, free access to several yoga and meditation workshops, as well as the opportunity to join the Vail Athletic Club with no initiation fee. The weekly support meetings take place Mondays from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. “The strength and motivation that can be gained from having a support network around you, all going through the same process, is vital for success when it comes to life transformation. 42 Days takes life out of the realm of intent, and into the realm of action,” Kiddoo said. The cost for new participants is $300 for guests, and $150 for members. The Yoga Studio at the Vail Athletic Club is located within the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa, at 352 East Meadow Drive. For more information visit vailathleticclub.com or call 970-476-7960.
