Ritter, Obama aide: Colo a model for energy policy
DENVER, Colorado ” Gov. Bill Ritter and an energy adviser to Barack Obama’s campaign say Colorado’s renewable energy programs could serve as a national model to help increase energy production and reduce consumption.
Democratic adviser Heather Zichal says the nation could build on Colorado’s success if Obama is elected president.
Ritter and Zichal spoke to reporters in a conference call Tuesday.
The governor says high gasoline prices are hurting consumers, and the nation needs to focus on short- and long-term solutions to the nation’s energy problems.
Ritter said, “We think it will be and ought to be part of a national policy.”
