Robbers attack man at home

GYPSUM ” A man was attacked by knife-wielding intruders in the doorway of his Gypsum home, but police have made no arrests in the rare home invasion, which occurred Nov. 13.

Detectives are still seeking tips in the robbery.

The man told police he was pushed down by two men after he answered a knock at his door shortly before midnight. One of the men stuck a knife to his back and tried to tie him up, the victim told police.

During the attacks, one of the intruders referred to the other as “Jessie.” They ran away without taking anything when the man screamed, he said.

The suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts, one a dark color and the other, gray, the man said.

Both suspects appeared to be between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall with slim builds.

Though nothing was stolen from the apartment, the suspects face potential charges of second-degree assault, first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery and menacing.

Before to the attack, the victim heard a vehicle outside with a loud exhaust, and saw a gray or light-colored small sport sedan, possible a Honda CRX, driving slowly down the street, he told police.
