Rocky Mountain National Park: Death in car appears to be accidental
ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colorado ” Rocky Mountain National Park officials say the death of a person found in a burned car on the park’s west side was apparently accidental.
The unidentified victim was found Wednesday beside U.S. 34 just south of the Kawuneeche (cow-wuh-nee-chee) Visitor Center near Grand Lake. Investigators say they believe the victim died on Tuesday night.
Park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson said Thursday it may take weeks for the Grand County coroner to identify the victim because of the condition of the body.
Patterson says the car was a 2008 Toyota Camry registered in Colorado.
