Rollover accident causes some traffic delays

A woman sustained minor injuries when her car rolled over twice on the highway in Dowd Junction.The accident, that happened on Interstate 70 westbound, mile marker 172, at about 3 p.m. was apparently caused by the heavy rain, police said.The accident also caused some traffic delays when police closed one of the lanes. Police said the car rolled over twice, went upside down over the concrete barrier and rolled another 70 feet down. “(The driver) appeared to have minor injuries,” said Vail Police officer Rusty Jacobs. “The car was probably totaled.”The woman said she hit water and felt her tires couldn’t make contact with the road,” Jacobs added.The woman was transported to Vail Valley Medical Center, Jacobs said.Vail, Colorado
