DENVER – Andrew Romanoff says veteran Democratic strategist Bill Romjue will manage his campaign for U.S. Senate.

Romjue was a senior adviser to Joe Biden during his 2008 presidential campaign.

Romanoff is seeking to replace fellow Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet, who faces his first election for the seat. Gov. Bill Ritter had appointed Bennet to fill the seat of current Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.

Republicans seeking the seat include former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton, Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck and former state Sen. Tom Wiens. Montezuma County civic leader Gary Kennedy, Douglas County resident Vincent Martinez and Denver businessman Cleve Tidwell also have announced plans this year to seek the GOP nomination.
