Roundabouts proposed for Eagle traffic

Vail Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

EAGLE, Colorado ” Several roundabouts around Eagle’s Interstate 70 interchange and Eby Creek Road are part of proposed traffic improvements released by the town and the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Details of the study can found at the town’s Web site: You can make comments on the proposal until April 30.

To reduce traffic congestion, roundabouts are proposed at the I-70 ramps and at Eby Creek Road’s intersections with Market Street and Chambers Avenue. Other ideas are a new pedestrian bridge across I-70, more sidewalks and a bus stop on southbound Eby Creek Road.

The plan would require the widening of the bridge over the Eagle River and would limit the widening of Eby Creek Road to four lanes.

The public can send comments until April 30 to Martha Miller, Colorado Department of Transportation resident engineer, at 970-328-6385, or Tom Gosiorowski, Eagle’s town engineer, at 970-328-6678.
