VAIL, Colorado ” Roxy Vail is hosting its annual trunk show today from 1 to 5 p.m. at the store, located at 172 East Gore Creek Drive in Vail.

Visitors can enjoy 20 percent off merchandise from Michael Stars, Hale Bob and Fillmore. The first 25 people will receive a gift with purchase. Refreshments will also be served.

“Every year we present a couple of our vendors but this year we’re doing a new twist, and presenting Gifts that Give Back,” said Roxy owner Patti Weinstein. “This year we thought it’s really important for us to show some of the vendors that we sell at the store that do give back to charity.”

The companies that give a portion of their proceeds to charity include Toms Shoes, AfricAid bracelets, Love Quotes scarves, Aviator Nation sweats, Annie O belts, BeadforLife bracelets and necklaces, Blabla knit dools and Signorelli sweaters.

“The amount the companies give back ranges from 10 percent to 100 percent,”

Weinstein said. “We have one company, Toms Shoes, that gives an equal amount. If they sell one pair of shoes, they donate one pair to a child in need. Tom, the founder, was down in Argentina and realized a lot of children didn’t have shoes. He’s given away 115,000 pairs of shoes since 2006. What he does is tremendous.”

One hundred percent of the net profits from BeadsforLife is invested in community development projects for impoverished Ugandans.

Weinstein, one of the founders of the Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group, carries a few products from companies that support the fight against breast cancer in her store as well. The companies themselves donate money towards breast cancer research and Weinstein also donates 50 percent of the profit back to the Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group, she said.
