VAIL — For more than a decade, Kramer has been one of the most respected DJs in San Francisco. His selection, mixing and energy behind the decks have garnered him a solid loyal following, and he has been involved in throwing some of the most legendary parties in the San Francisco Bay area.
Kramer is also one of the co-founders of DISTRIKT, the largest daytime sound instillation at the yearly Burning Man festival. Hosting more than 5,000 people every day on it’s dance floor, DISTRIKT has become a thing of legends. Kramer’s yearly closing party set on Saturday has become a highlight of the Burning Man week. This is where Samana talent buyer Ross Cohen first came across him.
“I was watching the DJ in the booth play great electronic dance music to 1,000-plus people in the desert for a sunset set and was so impressed that I pursued Kramer to perform in Vail,” Cohen said. “His high energy behind the turntables is amazing to both watch and hear.”
Part of Methodrone
Kramer is also one half of the production team Methodrone. Their highly regarded albums “Nonlinear Reality” (Looq Records, 2010), “Where is the New World?” (Looq, 2011) and “Spacial Recognition” (Looq, 2013) have been compared to classic groundbreaking productions by Charlie May & Sasha, Voyager and Breeder. On his own, Kramer also has releases on Sequential Sounds, Pop+Lock, Transition Records, Helvetica Noir, Lo-Rise Recordings and Knob Records.
Methodrone music has also caught the ear of Hollywood, with tracks featured in the No. 1-rated show “CSI: New York” and the racing game “WRC FIA World Rally Championship.” Remixes by Methodrone include the classic “We Are Connected,” by Jondi & Spesh, as well as MoMu’s “Space Pimp.”
Samana Lounge welcomes Kramer to Vail Village today. Local artist adamROSS will get the dance floor moving at 9 p.m. For the latest information on this and other shows, follow Samana Lounge on Facebook.
