Sample a Colorado wine in Vail on Sunday

VAIL, Colorado – Taste wines from Grand Junction’s Two Rivers Winery, this Sunday, from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Marketplace on Meadow Drive Wine Shop.

Two Rivers Winery first began processing grapes in 1999. The winery currently produces chardonnay, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, Riesling and port.

Both traditional and modern technology are used to create their wines. Two Rivers Chardonnay is a true Burgundian style wine, with a bouquet of sweet vanilla in the nose and fruit driven in the mouth. This wine exemplifies their style as they make wines that are likely to be lighter and softer.

“Very few locals or visitors are aware of Colorado wines,” said Kristen Fannin, sommelier for the Wine Shop at Marketplace on Meadow Drive. “We look forward to expanding their knowledge and bringing a new option into their wine selection process.”

Since 1999, Two Rivers has released six vintages and has garnered over 140 different awards in international competitions. In 2007, Two Rivers Winery won five gold medals in. These competitions include the Pacific Rim International, the Grand Harvest Awards, the Southwest International, the Eastern International, Los Angeles County Fair, the San Francisco International, and the Monterey Peninsula International.
