Santa’s Workshops kick off Thursday in Vail

VAIL –The Vail Recreation District will offer Santa’s Workshops Thursdays in December at various locations throughout Vail. The workshops are free for children ages two to 10 and their families and will include pictures with Santa, children’s gift making, holiday treat making, ornament making and more. Each workshop will include photos with Santa, a story reading and holiday card making. The holiday cards will then be sent to hospitalized children at local and regional hospitals. The workshops are part of the annual Holidays in Vail celebration and are scheduled as follows:

• Thursday, 3 to 6 p.m. – Holiday Inn in West Vail Story: “Snowmen at Christmas” Workshop will feature decorating snowman cookies, designing a snowflake picture frame, crafting snowman ornaments and charm bracelets and making a holiday card.

• Dec. 9, 3 to 6 p.m. – La Tour Restaurant in Vail Village Story: “Gingerbread Baby” Workshop will feature decorating holiday gingerbread cookies and creating gingerbread house photo frames, gingerbread ornaments and gingerbread charm bracelets, plus making a holiday card.

• Dec. 16,-3 to 6 p.m. – Arrabelle at Vail Square in Lionshead Story: “The Polar Express” Workshop will feature decorating tree cookies and making jingle bell frames, reindeer ornaments and jingle bell charm bracelets, plus making a holiday card.

• Dec. 23, 1 to 4 p.m. – Vail Marriott Resort and Spa in Lionshead Story: “The Night Before Christmas” Workshop will include decorating Christmas trees snacks, creating holiday frames, stocking ornaments and Santa charm bracelets, writing a letter to Santa and making a holiday card.
