Saturday’s Yoga Jam in Eagle to benefit Africa Yoga Project

Daily staff report
VAIL CO, Colorado

Two local yoga teachers, Rachel DeLong and Rachel Nelson, are coming together to lead a fun and uplifting Yoga Jam event Saturday in Eagle. DeLong and Nelson, who teach yoga around Eagle county, learned about Africa Yoga Project through attending programs with Baron Baptise. They were both inspired to get involved with the organization.

The Africa Yoga Project uses the transformative power of yoga to empower communities and change lives. By inspiring the global yoga community into active service, AYP delivers effective and innovative programs that foster peace, improve physical, emotion and mental well being, facilitate self-sufficiency and create opportunities to learn and contribute across the communities of East Africa.

“We want everyone to come together for this amazing, all levels yoga event, with all proceeds going to AYP,” says DeLong. “DJ Ramona will be providing music, photographer Sean Boggs will be capturing all the fun, and we have lots of special items to give away.

“Through this event we hope to cultivate unity, create possibility, and inspire change through yoga,” Nelson added.

The event will be held at 1020 Capitol St. Eagle Ranch Village, in Eagle (across from the Dusty Boot), from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $20.
